Who’s the most generous nation, the USA or the UK? Turns out Americans win hands down. In 2016 Americans donated $106 compared to only £58 ($72). But whilst Americans are more likely to tip, give money to the homeless and pick up trash on the street, Brits are more likely to hold a door open for a stranger, recycle regularly, and donate belongings and money to charity.
When it comes to good deeds both nations were almost even, with people in the US doing 25 and Brits doing 23. The most common good deeds done by Americans was holding the door open and donating to charity, whereas donating to charity was number one in the UK followed by recycling.
