2014 is here and OnePoll’s latest stats reveal what people are most looking forward to this year.
46% are planning on making a new year’s resolution and most are planning to be healthier.
64% want to lose weight and 48% plan to exercise regularly.
There’s a lot of great films due to be released in 2014 but The Hobbit- There and back again is most anticipated (19%).
The upcoming series of Sherlock is the most looked forward to TV of 2014 (25%), followed closely by Downton Abbey (21%) and Doctor Who (20%).
2014 will also be a big year for sports.
49% of males are looking forward to the FIFA world cup but 48% of females say they’re not looking forward to any sports events this year.
62% of UK Brits will be travelling abroad this year, with most looking forward to a trip to Spain (29%).
Other planned holiday destinations include America (19%) and France (22%).
54% of people are just as positive about 2014 as they are about 2013.
Financially, 18-24s mostly believe 2014 will be better than 2013 (39%) but workers aged 25-34 are the most hopeful for a promotion at work (42%).
2014 is set to be an exciting year for people personally with 23% anticipating a major life event.
16% will be moving away and 13% are expecting a child.
